General Information
Once you’ve completed the course, AAA will notify the DMV of your completion. In addition, upon successfully completing the final exam, you may download an electronic copy of your certificate as proof that you’ve completed the course.
Course Information
The course is a state-mandated 8 hours long. You can complete it in a single day or spread it over a few days.
Yes, your final exam consists of 30 multiple-choice questions. You need to score an 80% or higher to pass, and you have three attempts to pass. If you do not pass by the third attempt, you must repurchase the course and restart the course from the beginning.
Once you pass the course, we’ll submit the results to the DMV for you, saving you a trip! If you would like a copy of your proof of completion, you may download a copy for your records upon successfully completing the final exam.
Technical requirements to take this course:
- Internet-enabled device: desktop/laptop computer, tablet, or smartphone. Tablets and phones older than 5 years may have difficulties with the course content.
- Computer speakers or headphones (to listen to audio in course videos)
- Internet connection: 2-5 Mbps download bandwidth
- Browser support: Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Microsoft Edge, or Mozilla Firefox
- Internet Explorer is not supported
- The browser must have cookies and JavaScript enabled
